Red Clay is Sweet Briar College’s student-run literary magazine, and it traditionally has also featured visual art produced by students and faculty at the college. Some of the magazine’s history is unclear, although we do know that it was called “The Brambler” until at least 1986. At some point after that, it was renamed “Red Clay”. Editions have been found dating back to 1976, but the magazine likely began publishing before then. This blog was made in 2013 and abandoned in 2015, but has been revived in hopes of sharing Sweet Briar Community artworks throughout the year!
